Community Service

Everyday we reap in the benefits of living in a community as great as River Hill, but there are many places that are not as fortunate. The purpose of RHFBLA's Community Service Program is to give back to the community and help organizations in hopes of creating a better future. This year, RHFBLA will be focusing on Share Our Strength, and organization that aims to end childhood hunger in America, a problem that is found throughout the U.S. and Maryland too, that continues to grow. We hope to have events and fundraisers for Share Our Strength that will bring awareness and donations to this worthy cause.

Also, this year, March of Dimes will be a project of the Community Service Program. March of Dimes is an organization that tries to spread awareness about babies born prematurely and the implications that result from that, which would affect a child for the rest of his or her life. MOD funds research on this issue and tries to educate the general public about precautions that can be taken against premature birth. MOD is also FBLA's national cause and is considered as a chapter event at the state and national level.
